Here are several differences when it comes to broadcasting between ShoutCast 1 and ShoutCast 2
2. With shoutcast-V1-V2 1 there were 2 broadcasting modes - live and AutoDJ. If you didn t want to use
AutoDJ at all you could just broadcast live and if you wanted to use AutoDJ you would have to
disable it when you wanted to broadcast live and then re-enable it when you stopped
broadcasting live.

It can be used to create an Internet radio station or a privately running jukebox and many things in between. It is very versatile in that new formats can be added relatively easily and supports open standards for communication and interaction.

The MPEG Layer 3 audio standard, more commonly known as mp3,
was made public for the first time in 1993. In 1997,
the AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) format appeared,
then AAC + (also called HEAAC), finally replaced by a final version called HEAACv2.
AAC was chosen by Apple for its iPod, iPhone, iPad and iTunes, as well as by Sony.
The HEAAC codec has also been adopted for 3G mobile telephony and DTT.
When a remote source (live dj) has connected and will automatically switch, from auto dj to live broadcast. When the dj is done, all he needs to do is disconnect, the Panel will detect that the live source has disconnected and will return to the automatic DJ until the next DJ connection.
